Renapro® is a high protein supplement specially designed for renal patients and is low in phosphate and potassium.

Renapro® is a Food for Special Medical Purposes and should only be given under medical supervision.

Increasing Protein intake

Dietary protein, especially high quality protein like meat, poultry, and eggs, is the source of the amino acids the body needs to build muscle and maintain healthy cells, organs, and bones. Dialysis patients need more protein than the average healthy adult because they lose protein during dialysis, and because kidney disease alters the body’s ability to use and process amino acids.

Controlling your phosphate

Phosphate is a mineral found in your body and in many foods. The kidneys normally help to control the level of phosphate in your blood. If your kidneys are not working well, phosphate can build up in the blood. High levels of phosphate in your blood can cause weak bones and can build up in your blood vessels, joints or muscles causing them to harden. You can lower your phosphate level by reducing the amount of phosphate in your diet.

Renapro® powder dissolves better in warm liquids than cold liquids. Therefore, the volume of liquid can be much less with warm water/liquid. Always use a shaker and add the fluid before the powder.
